The former Talking Heads frontman, who finished the first leg of his ‘Who Is The Sky’ tour – named after his recent album – last week, has also announced new North American dates to come after his already-announced January shows in Australia and New Zealand – you can buy tickets here – and February and March shows in Europe.

After wrapping up his first European leg in Paris on March 19, Byrne will head to North America. Among the new North American dates are shows in Vancouver, Portland, Las Vegas, Nashville and Baltimore, to go alongside his headline slot at Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, Tennessee, and a show at Coachella, among other gigs. Find tickets to his North American shows here.

He’s then set to return to Europe in June, with new shows announced in Czechia, Hungary, Italy and Croatia to go alongside those already announced in Norway, Greece, Poland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and the UK – find tickets here.

Byrne released ‘Who Is The Sky?’ – recorded with the NYC-based Ghost Train Orchestra, and featuring Hayley Williams, St. Vincent and The Smile’s Tom Skinner – in September.

Last month, he shared a new single, ‘T-shirt’, co-written by his longtime friend and collaborator Brian Eno. He gave the track, written about the importance of helping others amid the current political climate, its debut while on tour in North America, where it was accompanied by slogans including ‘Make America Gay Again’ and ‘No Kings’. Byrne has previously spoken out about US politics, notably sharing a playlist called ‘The Beautiful Shitholes’ in 2018 in response to comments President Donald Trump was reported to have said regarding “shithole countries” in a meeting.

He kicked off the tour by playing the Talking Heads’ classic ‘Psycho Killer’ for the first time in 19 years, while Williams joined him in New York City to play Paramore’s ‘Hard Times’ as well as their recent collaboration, ‘What Is The Reason For It?’ from ‘Who Is The Sky?’.

Byrne revealed recently that he’s considering making another concert movie, too. And, the musician has also shared a playlist for “people who hate Christmas music” which features tracks including EI GC Y Su Raza Alterada’s festive hit ‘Ya Llega La Navidad’, Run-DMC’s ‘Christmas Is’ and Prince‘s ‘Another Lonely Christmas’.

He shared the 32-track playlist, titled ‘David Byrne Radio Presents: Christmas Music for People Who Hate Christmas Music’ with a message explaining its eclectic sound.

“This playlist is not about the solstice, nor does it have some Pagan agenda,” he told fans. “It’s rowdy, fun songs that gently poke at and refer to the holidays. Enjoy!”
