Caleb Shomo and his wife Fleur are ending their marriage of 14 years.
Court records show that the estranged couple jointly filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Monday, 13 July, Page Six reports.
The lead singer of the rock band Beartooth addressed rumours surrounding his sexuality two months prior to the filing, writing on Instagram, “There’s been a lot of speculation surrounding my personal life as of late, and I feel compelled to set the record straight before it affects those I love any further.
“I am a proudly gay man. This is something I’ve been unpacking and reckoning with in my life for quite some time now.”
His wife reacted to his announcement in her own post at the time, sharing her support for the singer and confirming that they are no longer together.
“The past few months have been a very disorienting and hurtful time to navigate,” she wrote. “For both of us. But I will always want to love, protect and support Caleb. I have cared more about his well-being over the years than anything else in the world.”
Shomo went on to share that he feels “embarrassed” he didn’t come out sooner, adding that he “spent a decade burying feelings with alcohol”.
