The annual Sunday Times Tax List has revealed the UK’s 100 biggest taxpayers, with Harry Styles named one of the country’s biggest.

Gambling magnates Fred and Peter Done of Betfred topped the rankings for the first time, surpassing a host of entrepreneurs, athletes and musicians.
Per The BBC, the elevated tax payments made by those listed in the annual roundup are attributed to changes in corporation tax rates implemented by the previous Conservative government.
In a steep rise from the collective £4.985bn recorded the previous year, this year’s top 100 taxpayers have paid a staggering £5.758bn in tax. Among them was Styles, who reportedly earned more than £51.8 million from his touring and merchandise company Erskine Records from 2023-24, almost all of which is liable for tax at 45 per cent.
The former One Direction member-turned-solo artist reportedly made a £24.7m tax payment and was among the new entries on the list, which also saw the likes of Ed Sheeran, JK Rowling and sports promoter Eddie Hearn featured.

The singer recently announced his fourth solo album, ‘Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally’, which is set for release on March 6, and then dropped the first taster of the record in the form of lead single ‘Aperture’ – which features Wolf Alice frontwoman Ellie Rowsell on backing vocals.
He then went on to announce a massive seven-city ‘Together, Together’ tour, which includes a residency in London at Wembley Stadium, and a colossal 30 dates at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
The former smashed the record for the most performances by any act in a single year at London’s Wembley Stadium – eclipsing Coldplay’s 10-night stint last summer. He’ll play 12 concerts at the venue as part of his massive tour.
Styles will be joined in the capital by special guest Shania Twain. He has pledged to donate £1 from every ticket sold to LIVE’s levy to protect UK grassroots music venues.
After tickets went live, his former bandmate Zayn Malik seemingly took a swipe at Styles by making a comment about ticket prices at a recent live show. “Hopefully the ticket prices weren’t too high – just saying!” he grinned at his recent Vegas gig, before shrugging. “Anyway!…”
Many fans have interpreted the comment as a nod to the conversations around the ticket prices for Styles’ upcoming shows at Wembley Stadium. Pre-sales for this summer’s shows went live earlier this week, ahead of the general sale tomorrow (Friday January 30).
Ticketmaster confirmed that tickets were priced by the organiser at between £44.10 to £466.25 (including fees), in addition to a per-order handling fee of £2.95. Ticket prices will not change during the pre-sale or on-sale. Rear pitch standing tickets cost £144.65 each, while front section standing is priced at £198.95 per ticket. Pit standing tickets will set fans back £279.45 each.
Some customers weren’t impressed, calling the prices “absolutely insane”.
