“I would love for Oasis to live forever”

“I would love for Oasis to live forever”

Anaïs and Gene Gallagher caught up with NME to share what it was like to see Oasis’ ‘Live ‘25’ shows, and discuss who is the “most exciting Gallagher” in the family. Watch our interview above.

Anaïs, who is a model, photographer and daughter of Noel Gallagher, spoke to us on the BRITs red carpet alongside her cousin, Gene – frontman of Villanelle and the son of Liam Gallagher.

They were at the event celebrating Noel, who was awarded the Songwriter Of The Year award following Oasis’ huge ‘Live ‘25’ reunion tour last year.

Asked whether they were with the Britpop icon when he found out he had won the award, both revealed that they came across the news on Instagram before they heard it from Noel himself. Anaïs also shared how she thinks her father reacted to the announcement.

“I think he was shocked. In my opinion, he’s quite a humble person, although I think a lot of people would disagree with that,” she told NME. “But getting recognised for his music, especially now that it’s a younger generation of people buying their albums, it’s a really amazing thing.”

They also joked about what it felt like to see the ‘Live ‘25’ tour, and how they had a different perception of seeing their fathers perform live compared to when they were kids.

“It was incredible to see,” Anaïs said. “We had memories of Oasis before, but then I mainly cared about how many Milky Way Stars were in the dressing room or how many beef flavoured Hula-Hoops were there for me to eat! So it was nice to now be able to go to the shows and experience it with a relatively clean head.”

Of whether or not fans could hope to see more tour dates announced soon, the two kept cards close to their chests, with Anaïs stating: “I would love for Oasis to live forever, and I think it does in our hearts, but who knows!”

The two also spoke about Gene’s own music, with band Villanelle – who recently featured on the NME 100 list for 2026. The band have recently shared a handful of singles from their forthcoming debut EP, and when asked if he had his sights on one day winning the BRITs Songwriter Of The Year award too, the singer simply said “We’ll see”, before Anaïs jumped in to sing his praises.

“I think he’s the most exciting Gallagher in the family these days,” she said. “I don’t think we’re competitive though. We’re a very supportive family. Everyone thinks that everyone is great. It’s all good vibes here.”

This year’s BRIT Awards marked the first time in the 46-year history that the ceremony was held outside of London, and also saw Jack Whitehall return to host for the sixth time.

As well as the on stage appearance from Noel Gallagher, there were also live performances from Harry Styles, Olivia Dean, HUNTR/X’s EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI, Wolf Alice, Mark Ronson, Alex Warren, Sombr, RAYE, and Rosalía – the latter of which brought out Bjork as a special guest.

It was Olivia Dean who took home the most awards on the night, including Album of the Year with ‘The Art Of Loving‘, and PinkPantheress also became the youngest recipient and first female winner of the Producer Of The Year award.

At the end of the night, Ozzy Osbourne was honoured with the BRITs Lifetime Achievement Award following his passing last summer, and it saw Robbie Williams perform his songs alongide members of Ozzy’s band, including Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, Tommy Clufetos and Zakk Wylde.
