Los Angeles’ Jillian Medford has announced her newest album as Ian Sweet. It’s titled Shiverstruck and it’s out July 24 on Polyvinyl. Medford wrote the LP while working as a children’s music teacher and recorded it with producer Ben H. Allen. Below, listen to the lead single “Criminal Kissing.”
In a press statement, Medford called “Criminal Kissing” “a love letter to making bad decisions. Like hooking up with your ex even though you’ll be left emotionally unraveling and picking up the pieces afterwards. Sometimes you just have to lean into the chaos spiral and see where it leads you.”
Medford’s last Ian Sweet album was 2023’s Sucker. She’ll open for American Football on a leg of their upcoming tour this summer before kicking off her own run of headlining dates behind Shiverstruck in October. Scroll down to see all of Ian Sweet’s upcoming shows.
