Jay-Z and Eminem are credited on the same track for the first time since 2001’s Renegade.

Details of a new collaborative collection from Rakim, Kurupt and Masta Killa, which is set for release on August 28, have been unveiled.

Executive producer Matthew “M80” Markoff posted a handwritten tracklist teaser on Instagram with the pair’s names attached to one of the interludes. He hyped the project as “AOTY 2026”.

Markoff clarified that Jay-Z and Eminem don’t deliver verses, but instead appear on an interlude paying tribute to Rakim’s influence.

He told Rolling Stone: “Em and Jay do not have verses on the interlude. The entire album… was recorded in the past two years.”

The record is stacked with heavyweight features, including Snoop Dogg, KRS-One, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Buckshot and Daz Dillinger, signalling a full-scale celebration of hip-hop royalty.

Renegade featured on Jay-Z’s The Blueprint album.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z is gearing up for two major shows announced after his standout Roots Picnic performance. He’ll play Paris on September 10, and Los Angeles on October 23, with tickets rolling out via Citi and Mastercard presales on June 11, followed by general sale on June 12 at 10am local time.

As for Eminem, last summer, his previously unreleased track Everybody’s Looking At Me was made available to stream for the first time.

The unearthed gem was part of the STANS: THE OFFICIAL SOUNDTRACK for the Eminem-produced documentary, STANS.

Produced by longtime collaborator Dr. Dre, the track opens with a blistering 2002 Funkmaster Flex freestyle, instantly transporting fans back to the raw energy of the rap icon’s The Eminem Show era.

Long speculated to be a shelved cut from that seminal album, Everybody’s Looking At Me borrows elements from The Kiss (Skit), fuelling theories that it was originally intended for the 2002 release. Two decades later, the full version saw the light of day – complete with Dre’s signature production and Shady’s unfiltered commentary on fame, scrutiny, and the chaos of celebrity life.

Shady’s last studio album was 2024’s The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace).
