The track itself debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and went on to earn multiple Grammy nominations, cementing the vehicle’s status as a recognizable pop culture artifact.
The vintage Cadillac stands out with a unique “peaches-and-cream” gradient paint job that perfectly matches the aesthetic of the music video. Under the hood, the Coupe DeVille retains its classic V8 engine and shows a remarkably low 30,000 miles on the odometer. While the vehicle remains largely true to its original stock configuration, it features a few premium modern upgrades. These include a custom, Bluetooth-enabled audio system and a specialized four-corner air suspension system.
Beyond its celebrity connection, the sale of the vehicle carries a deep, charitable purpose. The current owner, Craig Harwin, chose to auction the car to honor the memory of his late wife, Hollywood fashion stylist Deborah Waknin, and her best friend, actress Shannon Doherty. Both women tragically passed away from breast cancer.
Proceeds generated from the auction will be donated directly to breast cancer research, patient support, and emotional-wellness initiatives. The funds will benefit prominent organizations dedicated to the cause, including the Stand Up to Cancer organization and the No Name Necessary Foundation, which Harwin noted was born from a shared dream to turn personal grief into a meaningful purpose.
