Michael Bublé jokingly warns of ‘baby boom’ after summer shows

Michael Bublé jokingly warns of ‘baby boom’ after summer shows

Michael Bublé has quipped that his run of outdoor UK and Ireland shows could spark a full-blown baby boom.

The 48-year-old singer teased that the population in each city he visits may “double” after his performances as the magic of an outdoor concert practically does the matchmaking for him

He joked to BBC Radio Ulster: “I like to call them Bublé-bies,.”

Bublé continued: “It’s so romantic … you’re under the stars, swaying, having a couple of glasses of wine — it’s an aphrodisiac.”

The Haven’t Met You Yet singer said life on the road looks very different these days, admitting he only signs up for a handful of shows now that he’s a hands-on dad.

But this summer, his brood are packing their bags and tagging along, turning the tour into a family adventure.

He joked that they’re already buzzing about “seeing Papi” and treating the trip like a mini-holiday.

With his schedule deliberately stripped back, the singer says each concert feels like a rare moment rather than a routine stop.

He explained that performing less often has made those nights feel “richer”, giving him the chance to really savour the connection with the crowd.

Bublé kicks off his dates with a long-awaited Belfast return on July 1, headlining Belsonic in Ormeau Park — his first show in the city since 2019 — with Dreams hitmaker Gabrielle supporting.

The singer and his wife Luisana met in 2008 when Michael was performing on tour.

The crooner – who has Noah, 12, Elias, 10, Vida, seven, and Cielo, three, with his spouse – recently marked their 15th wedding anniversary, gushing on Instagram: “Lu, you are everything real in a world that can sometimes feel like smoke and mirrors.

“You’re the truth in all the noise, the calm in every storm, and the light that keeps guiding me home.”

He added: “I honestly don’t know who I’d be without you. I know I wouldn’t be this man. I know I wouldn’t have built this life, or found this kind of purpose, or known this kind of love.”

Michael also said: “Fifteen years of marriage and we’ve created a life that’s bigger than anything I ever dreamed of. Happy anniversary, Mi Amor. I’d choose you in every lifetime.”
