Moby will donate all profits from Coachella 2026 to animal rights organisations

Moby will be donating all profits from his Coachella 2026 fee to animal rights organisations.

The musician revealed yesterday (April 16) that 100 per cent of his profits from performing at the festival last weekend and this weekend will be distributed to organisations that support animals.

He’ll be making donations to Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, Mercy for Animals, The Humane League, and Direct Action Everywhere, following his two Friday sets on the Mojave stage.

“My main job in life is working as an animal rights activist, and to that end, my hope is to use the revenue and attention from my Coachella show to draw attention to, and financially support, animal rights organisations,” he said in a video posted to Instagram.

It comes as he celebrates 39 years of being vegan later this year.

NME caught up with Moby in 2023, where he opened up about his decision to tour for the first time in a decade for the 25th anniversary of ‘Play’, while also donating 100 per cent of the profits to European animal rights organisations.

“For years, my manager has been trying to get me to tour, throwing out ideas of having a payday or the glamour of being onstage, and I’d say I’m happy just playing acoustic Neil Young songs for fundraisers in my backyard,” he told us.

“He realised the only thing I couldn’t say to no to was giving all the money away to animal rights organisations. The irony is the only way to get me on tour is to make sure I don’t make a penny from it!”

The electronic music star is set to play just one London gig this summer, as well as a huge headline show at Brighton Beach. That gig marks Moby’s long-awaited return to Brighton, having not performed in the city for over 25 years. Visit here for tickets.

He last performed on these shores when he headlined London’s O2 in autumn 2024. Other live dates in 2026 include stops at Coachella in California, Rock Werchter in Belgium and Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, and other performances in the US and Europe.

Elsewhere, he’s due to perform at Montreux Jazz Festival for its 60th anniversary edition.

He also released his 23rd studio album, ‘Future Quiet’ back in February. Spanning across 11 songs, the record marks a new chapter for Moby, and is set to incorporate modern piano minimalism, ambient soundscapes, and a variety of guest collaborations.
