Olivia Dean makes history as Rein Me In hits double digits at the chart summit

Olivia Dean makes history as Rein Me In hits double digits at the chart summit

Olivia Dean has etched her name into the record books this week, securing a monumental milestone on the UK Official Singles Chart. Her collaborative hit with Sam Fender, “Rein Me In,” has unlocked double digits, celebrating its tenth non-consecutive week at Number 1. This achievement carries immense historical weight; Dean now holds the record for the most weeks at Number 1 by any British female artist in Official Chart history. Furthermore, the track has matched the legendary run of Rihanna and Jay-Z’s “Umbrella” from 2007, making it the joint longest-running Number 1 by a male-female duo.

While Dean and Fender continue their reign, Zara Larsson is also reaching new heights. Her single “Midnight Sun” has surged twelve places to hit Number 7, marking her seventh career Top 10 hit. The track’s ascent was fueled by the release of the “Girls Trip” remix record, which has reignited global interest in the original material. Larsson’s steady rise comes amid a highly competitive week, where even heavyweights like Tame Impala’s “Dracula” found themselves stalled at the Number 2 position.

The box office success of the Michael Jackson biopic, “Michael,” continues to have a profound ripple effect on the charts. A flurry of the late singer’s classics are grooving back toward the top, led by “Billie Jean,” which climbed nine places to Number 4. The Jackson fever extends further into the Top 10 with “Beat It” reaching Number 10, while “Don’t Stop ‘til You Get Enough” and the Jackson 5 classic “I Want You Back” also saw significant gains.

Fresh faces and veteran legends alike are filling out the Top 40. Madonna has made a triumphant return with “Bring Your Love,” a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter that serves as the second preview of her upcoming album, “Confessions II.” Meanwhile, The Chemical Brothers’ 2015 track “Go” has made its first-ever Top 40 appearance over a decade after its release, thanks to its prominent inclusion in the new Charlize Theron film, “Apex.” From record-breaking streaks to cinematic revivals, the current standings reflect a vibrant and unpredictable era for the UK music scene.
