Sheryl Crow blasts Donald Trump for staging UFC fight at White House

Sheryl Crow blasts Donald Trump for staging UFC fight at White House

Sheryl Crow has slammed U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration for staging an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event at the White House over the weekend.

On Sunday, the American leader sat cage-side for several mixed martial arts matches on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C., held as part of the UFC Freedom 250 spectacle.

The name of the event is a reference to the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, which will be marked on 4 July.

Trump, who was surrounded by his immediate family, also celebrated his 80th birthday that day.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Monday, Crow labelled the UFC fights as “disgraceful and void of decency”.

“To stay quiet means to turn a blind eye. And so I am saying this. What happened last night on the lawn of the White House was disgraceful and void of decency. Powerful, rich people filled the lawn to watch a violent sport that ended with a vile and racist comment,” she wrote, referring to a post-match interview comment made by fighter Josh Hokit. “All while the average American cannot afford healthcare, gas, and cost of living.”

In a post-match interview with Joe Rogan, Hokit repeated a false claim about former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama.

Elsewhere in her post, Crow called on members of the public to oppose such events.

“Do not be fooled. This administration is corrupt and does not give a damn about the American people. It only cares about making money hand over fist at the expense and in spite of our democracy. If we continue to support this kind of distraction from reality, we are no better than them. Let’s be better, America,” the 64-year-old added.

Representatives for Trump and the White House have not yet responded to Crow’s comments.

The All I Wanna Do hitmaker is a vocal opponent of the president and released a protest song in July 2025 titled The New Normal in which she labelled Trump’s leadership style as “immoral”.
