Shirley Manson named curator for Teenage Cancer Trust at Royal Albert Hall 2027

Following the historic success of the 2026 concert series, Teenage Cancer Trust has announced that Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson will take the helm as guest curator for the 2027 shows at the Royal Albert Hall. The essential fundraising series is set to return from 15–21 March 2027, continuing its mission to provide vital support for young people living with cancer across the UK.

Manson follows in the footsteps of The Cure’s Robert Smith, who curated the 2026 run, and the charity’s Honorary Patron Sir Roger Daltrey, who led the event from its inception in 2000 until 2025. To celebrate the announcement, the charity has released footage of Garbage’s standout 2026 performance, featuring an extraordinary cover of The Cure’s “Lovesong.”

“To follow in the footsteps of the great Sir Roger Daltrey and most beloved Robert Smith by being invited to curate next year’s run of shows is one of the greatest honours that has ever been bestowed upon me,” said Manson. “I hope to curate a fine week of entertainment, calling upon some of my favourite artists to join the cause.”

Robert Smith, whose 2026 series raised £1.4 million with a lineup including Wolf Alice, Elbow, and My Bloody Valentine, offered his full support. “Garbage were one of the highlights of a stellar week,” Smith remarked. “I am very sure Shirley, with her great energy, commitment, and values, will do a fantastic job in 2027.”

Since its founding, Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall has raised over £36 million. These funds are critical, as cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease for teenagers and young adults in the UK. The money raised supports specialist nurses, youth workers, and hospital units tailored specifically for those aged 13–24.

With planning already underway, the 2027 series promises to be another landmark year for the charity. Further lineup details will be revealed in the coming months.
