Swedish band Clutter announce debut album with boisterous single ‘Grease Baby’

Clutter have announced their debut album ‘Sugar Rush’ and shared the boisterous new single ‘Grease Baby’ – listen below.

The Stockholm punk band featured in the NME 100 for 2026, and released their debut EP ‘Clutter Loves You’ last year, and now they have confirmed that their first studio album will be released on October 2 via Swedish label PNKSLM Recordings – pre-order your copy here.

They have given fans a big taster of the record now in the form of ‘Grease Baby’, a bounding, energetic single for the summer, with scuzzy guitars and earwormy hooks cementing the DIY appeal of their earlier music.

Check out the video for ‘Grease Baby’, directed by Måns Nyman, here:

Speaking about the song, the band have said: “’Grease Baby’ paints a picture of a vacation. Of a never-ending summer and longing for something more, not quite knowing what. It’s a warm and kraut like rock song with elements of pop. It’s a happy sad song about yearning with a beautiful summer as a back-drop. Grease meets the sea.”

The four-piece made the album with producer Ove Jerndal during an intensive period in rural Sweden, and singer Hilda Alnder has said: “’Loves You’ was about growing up, but now we’re learning how to be adults whilst trying to stay true to our inner children. This album is about becoming an adult on your own terms. I don’t want to feel like a teenager, but I still want to live as I want and do what I want to do.”

Clutter – ‘Sugar Rush’ tracklist:

  1. ‘GirlvsHeart’
  2. ‘Everything Suxx’
  3. ‘Hello Kitty’
  4. ‘Pop Rock Sugar Rush’
  5. ‘Robot’
  6. ‘Grease Baby’
  7. ‘C.L.U.T.T.E.R.’
  8. ‘I Wish I Could Keep It Together’
  9. ‘Fame’
  10. ‘Unbothered’

NME selected Clutter as one of the most exciting new acts for 2026 at the start of the year, noting: “Clutter’s sound lives up to their name – jumbled and tangled, disorder coursing through their fuzzy, loud punk squalls. It’s the kind of disarray, though, that’s intentional and considered – a playful vehicle for lyrical existentialism and political pondering. Since meeting and forming in high school, the band have become embedded in their local scene, scoring a deal with revered Swedish label PNKSLM, and started picking up attention further afield – last year they supported Madrid’s Hinds on tour, while their debut EP ‘Loves You’ earned them a slot at Pitchfork Festival London.”
