Taylor Swift claims biggest single sales week in three years with Toy Story hit

Taylor Swift has secured the biggest week for a single so far in 2026 as her Toy Story 5 track, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” holds the top spot on the UK Singles Chart for a second consecutive week. The track accumulated an impressive 71,000 chart units over the past seven days, largely driven by a sell-out range of limited-edition collector CDs and vinyl. This massive surge narrowingly surpasses Harry Styles’ “Aperture,” which previously held the year’s weekly record with 70,000 units back in January.

In terms of pure sales, Swift’s latest milestone marks the biggest single week for any track in nearly three years, tracking back to The Beatles’ record-breaking release of “Now And Then” in November 2023. The achievement also marks the 20th individual week that Swift has spent at the summit of the singles chart across her seven career Number 1 hits.

It was also a historic week for Olivia Rodrigo. As her new studio album claimed the top spot on the albums chart, she simultaneously dominated the singles arena by landing three separate tracks inside the Top 5. Her track “stupid song” arrived as the week’s highest new entry at Number 2, while “the cure” held strong at Number 3, and “drop dead” secured Number 5, marking the first time the pop star has achieved this feat since 2021.

Elsewhere, World Cup fever has taken over the charts following England’s opening group stage victory against Croatia. The official 2026 tournament anthem “Dai Dai” by Shakira and Burna Boy broke into the Top 40 for the first time at Number 28, while Shakira’s classic 2010 anthem “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)” re-entered the standings for the first time in 16 years at Number 37. The football hype also prompted the seasonal return of the iconic “Three Lions” by Baddiel, Skinner and the Lightning Seeds at Number 35.

Finally, South Korean five-piece LE SSERAFIM secured their debut UK Top 40 appearance, with “ICONIC BY MISTAKE” entering at Number 22, while Harry Styles’ ongoing Wembley Stadium residency propelled three of his catalog tracks back into the chart, led by “American Girls” at Number 12.
