The Maccabees announce UK “intimate warm-up shows” ahead of 2026 outdoor summer tour

The Maccabees have announced two intimate warm-up shows across the UK ahead of their 2026 outdoor summer tour – check out all details below.

As the reunited indie-rockers announced on Instagram, they’re set to play warm-up shows at Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange and Newcastle’s O2 City Hall on July 6 and 7 ahead of their previously scheduled run of major outdoor shows.

“These are very likely to be the only indoor Maccabees shows of the year,” they told fans on social media. “We have great memories of both venues over the years and can’t wait to be back.”

Fans can sign up to their mailer here to access a presale before 9am Wednesday March 11. Alternatively, tickets will go on general sale next Friday (March 13) at 9am. You can find yours here.

The band will begin their run of aforementioned run of outdoor shows at London’s Alexandra Palace Park on July 9, before headlining the Eden Sessions in St Austell on July 11, Siren Bristol on July 23, Truck Festival in Oxfordshire on July 24, On The Beach in Brighton on July 25 and Live at Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds on July 31.

As for the latter, Orlando Weeks and co. recently confirmed four special guest opening acts for that date, with the ’00s indie-heavy line-up led by Maxïmo Park, Everything Everything and Mystery Jets – you can find any remaining tickets here.

In the capital, The Maccabees will be joined by White Lies and NME Cover stars Westside Cowboy.

Speaking previously about the forthcoming dates, guitarist Felix White explained: “The year we’ve just had was so special to all of us, and so unexpected, that it has put some momentum in everyone collectively… and who wouldn’t want to do all that again?”

White teased last November that new music from the band may be coming in 2026, saying that these gigs “will either be the last Maccabees shows, or we’ll try and make some music and see where it goes”.

He later told NME about potential future material, explaining: “I think The Maccabees is never going to be a thing where you go, ‘Oh, we got another record, another record, another record…’ because, for better or worse, everyone cares too much about it.

“If we can get together and really feel all the stuff when you’re playing a song together – even if you’re in a bad mood, you can’t help but smile really big and have all the clichés like hairs on the back of your neck [standing up]… if we can find that secret again, then that will be a really amazing thing.”

Over the summer, the musician said it was “tempting” for The Maccabees to head back into the studio. He revealed that the band weren’t working on any new music at the time, saying: “Maybe because we’re not writing anything at the moment, there’s no tension. Or that idea of like, ‘Where’s the band going?’ It’s just like, ‘Oh, nice to see you!’ and then getting to kind of like bathe in all the catalogue is kind of great.”

White had previously admitted that the band’s live return “almost felt embarrassing” after their “definitive” break-up in 2017.

When speaking to NME at their rehearsals at the start of last year, The Maccabees confirmed there had been no talk of new music at that point: “The plan is to do [All Points East] and see how much we love it. We might hate each other by August.”
