Brandon Flowers is reportedly stepping back into the spotlight for Pepsi – alongside David Beckham.

In an apparent campaign described as a “masterstroke” by insiders, The Killers frontman Brandon, 43, and David, 50, the former England captain who was knighted last year, is said to have filmed a top-secret advert for the soft drinks brand.

A source told The Sun: “David is getting to grips with a different type of ball in the ad, as he filmed his scenes in a pool hall.

“All the details are being kept under lock and key but it’s filmed and finished. David is a big fan of The Killers and was front and centre at their Glastonbury headline set in 2019.

“They didn’t get to film in the same room. Their scenes were done separately before being spliced together, but David is chuffed to be in the ad with Brandon.

“It is in the final edit now and should be released in the next month or so. The bosses over at Pepsi think it’s a masterstroke to get them both on board.”

The video, understood to have been shot separately with each star before being spliced together, is understood to be complete and in its final edit, with release expected in the coming months.

The collaboration links one of football’s most recognisable figures with the singer of hits including Mr Brightside, as Brandon prepares the band’s eighth studio album, due in 2027, following 2021’s Pressure Machine.

The advert is expected to align with The Killers’ forthcoming return.

Brandon confirmed last month that the band’s next album will arrive in 2027, though he has a solo record and tour to complete first.

Brandon was quoted by The Sun saying: “In 2027 you will get the best Killers record. I have two records complete. One is almost mixed, the other will follow shortly. I’m trying to decide how this is going to work logistically. I had a ball making them in Nashville. It’s a departure for sure. Gotta keep you all on your toes.”

The singer added: “We thought you could make an album faster on the road, as you are working more with computers, but we did not get the gratification from it. We are now making a rock ’n’ roll album.”
