London’s most explosive sibling duo is officially counting down to their debut. Today, The Molotovs unveiled their latest digital single, “Get A Life,” marking the start of a high-octane “Month of Molotovs” leading up to the release of their highly anticipated debut album, Wasted On Youth (Marshall Records).

Clocking in at under two minutes, “Get A Life” is a concentrated blast of punk fury. As the opening track of the new album, it serves as a mission statement for teenage siblings Matt (17) and Issey Cartlidge (19). The song follows the success of their previous top-ten singles, “More More More,” “Today’s Gonna Be Our Day,” and “Rhythm Of Yourself.”

“It’s a punk song,” says frontman Matt Cartlidge. “We love Buzzcocks, The Libertines, The Jam, and the Pistols. It’s pretty angry, pretty pointed—and I can’t possibly tell you who it’s directed at!”

From Grassroots to Global Stages

Despite their youth, The Molotovs are seasoned veterans of the stage, boasting over 600 live performances. Their relentless work ethic has seen them share bills with icons like Blondie, The Libertines, and Iggy Pop.

While they’ve toured the US and played to massive crowds, the band remains fiercely dedicated to the UK’s grassroots scene. Last year, they headlined a vital fundraiser for the Music Venue Trust at Bush Hall—a venue they personally helped save from closure.

“The UK has a history of producing the greatest rock acts in the world,” notes bassist Issey Cartlidge. “But without these vital venues, artists will struggle to break through.”

The Wasted On Youth UK Tour

To celebrate the album, the band kicks off a massive UK tour this week, starting at Glasgow’s King Tuts on January 6th. The run includes stops at legendary spots like The Cavern in Exeter and Thekla in Bristol, before concluding with a string of intimate record store performances in February.

Wasted On Youth is available for preorder now via Marshall Records.
