The Wallflowers Announce Bringing Down the Horse Anniversary Tour

The Wallflowers wil spend the year celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1996 sophomore LP Bringing Down the Horse with an expansive North American and European tour. In addition to a full performance of the album, the band will also play one of their favorite records, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ Long After Dark, cover-to-cover.

“Coming back after such a long time, we wanted to do something special for the 30th anniversary of Bringing Down the Horse,” singer Jakob Dylan said in a statement. “We decided to play what seems to be our fans’ favorite Wallflowers album, and for us, we wanted to play one of our favorite Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers records, Long After Dark.”

Breaking Down the Horse is certainly the Wallflowers’ most popular release. Selling more than four million copies and peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, the album included breakout singles “6th Avenue Heartache” and “One Headlight.” The band’s last album, Exit Wounds, dropped in 2021.
