Trevor Noah to host Grammys 2026 for “one final time”

Trevor Noah is set to host this year’s Grammys for “one final time”.

The Recording Academy announced yesterday (January 13) that the comedian will be hosting the event for the sixth consecutive year at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 1.

Only singer Andy Williams has hosted the ceremony more times, a total of seven in the 1970s.

Noah, who will also serve as an executive producer, is also this year nominated in the best audio book, narration, and storytelling recording category for children’s story Into The Uncut Grass.

Grammys executive producer, Ben Winston, told The Hollywood Reporter: “I am beyond thrilled to welcome Trevor Noah back to host the Grammys for his sixth, and sadly, final time. He’s been the most phenomenal host of the show. He’s so smart, so funny, and such a true fan of the artists and music. His impact on the show has been truly spectacular, and we can’t wait to do it together one last time.”

Kendrick Lamar leads the way at the 2026 Grammy nominations with nine nods for his sixth album ‘GNX’.

His nominations put him two places ahead of Lady Gaga, Jack Antonoff and producer Cirkut, who all sit on seven, while Sabrina Carpenter, Leon Thomas, Serban Ghenea and Bad Bunny all have six.

Lamar, Gaga, Carpenter and Bad Bunny are all up for all three of the ‘major’ Grammy categories – Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year, with Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan and Tyler, The Creator among the other artists picking up nominations in those categories.

There are four nominations for ‘Golden’, the hit song from KPop Demon Hunters, while Bon Iver, The Cure, Wet Leg and Hayley Williams will fight it out with Tyler, The Creator for Best Alternative Music Album.

The eligibility period was from August 31, 2024 to August 30, 2025, meaning records released since that date, including Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’, were ineligible. You can view the full list here.

Following the nominations, many artists including Lorde, The Weeknd, Gracie Abrams, Benson Boone were snubbed, leaving many fans unhappy.

In response, Lorde seemed to subtweet the Recording Academy and later took out an advert in a newspaper pointedly thanking music fans for “believing in female musicians”.
