Watch Charli XCX’s full ‘Music, Fashion, Film’ album film

Charli XCX has shared a full-length film to accompany her new album ‘Music, Fashion, Film’ – watch it below.

The self-directed Charli xcx presents Music, Fashion, Film arrived yesterday (July 24), alongside the release of the singer’s seventh studio album.

Shot entirely in black-and-white, the film combines individual visuals for each of the record’s 11 tracks with behind-the-scenes footage and personal introductions from Charli about the album’s creation.

“Throughout this album process, I’ve been making things with my friends, and I’ve been loving every minute of it,” she says at the beginning of the film.

Charli goes on to explain that she made the album with A.G. Cook and Finn Keane, describing the producers as “two people that have become my close, close friends through working on music and creating things together”.

Watch Charli xcx presents Music, Fashion, Film in full below.

The film moves between fashion shoots, behind-the-scenes footage captured around London, studio sessions and full music-video sequences, with Charli providing context about the ideas behind each song.

Before ‘Card Declined’, for example, she discusses her love of shopping in cities including London and Paris, and touches on the feeling that buying new clothes can offer the possibility of adopting a different personality.

The section accompanying ‘Camera’ incorporates footage from the Aidan Zamiri-directed video starring French actor Vincent Cassel, as well as recordings of Charli pitching the idea to Cassel and his voicemail response.

Charli explains that the song examines the relationship between a performer and the camera, which can feel “tempting and exciting” while also being “unbelievably vulnerable and a bit embarrassing”.

The film concludes with ‘No One Lasts Forever’, which features a spoken-word contribution from director David Cronenberg. Charli offers a closer look at the pair’s conversation in Toronto about death, art and the possibility of leaving a lasting legacy.

The singer previously selected the Cronenberg collaboration as the standout song on ‘Music, Fashion, Film’, describing it as “one of my most favourite songs I’ve ever written”.

The album film was previewed through listening events held in cinemas across 25 cities earlier this month, allowing fans to hear the record alongside its accompanying visuals before its official release.

‘Music, Fashion, Film’ was produced by Charli, Cook and Keane and features the previously released singles ‘Rock Music’, ‘SS26’, ‘Wink Wink’ and ‘Camera’.

It marks Charli’s first conventional studio album since 2024’s all-conquering ‘Brat’, although she also created the soundtrack for Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights, which arrived in February.

Charli will headline Lollapalooza in Chicago next Friday (July 31), before making her headline debut at Reading & Leeds in August. She will then begin a North American arena tour with Underscores in Philadelphia on September 11.

In other news, Charli recently named her five favourite songs from her back catalogue, selecting ‘Stay Away’, ‘Next Level Charli’, the Shygirl remix of ‘365’, ‘Track 10’ and her SOPHIE collaboration ‘Vroom Vroom’.

She also shared the brooding ‘Camera’ B-side ‘If You Take Away The Music Then What Has She Got?’, accompanied by footage filmed at her recent intimate show at Scala in London.
