Every song on the ‘EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert’ soundtrack

Baz Luhrmann’s EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert film is in cinemas now, but what songs feature? Find out below.

The movie is the director’s follow-up to his 2022 biopic Elvis and it features long-lost footage of the legendary singer’s Las Vegas residency in 1970, as well as remastered 16mm footage from the 1972 film Elvis On Tour and 8mm film from the Graceland archives.

It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and was released in IMAX theatres on February 20 before a general cinematic release this week (February 27).

Luhrmann came across unseen footage from Elvis On Tour and Elvis: That’s The Way It Is with a view to using it in his biopic. 68 boxes of 35mm and 8mm footage were found in the Warner Bros. film archives in salt mines in Kansas, but as the footage didn’t have any sound, Luhrmann’s team had to restore it and sync it to existing audio sources.

Discussing the film in January, Luhrmann told Deadline, “I wouldn’t call it a documentary, or a concert film; our aim here is to make something new in the Elvis canon … to bring something to the screen that befits the magnitude of Elvis as a performer but also offers deeper revelations of his humanity and inner life.”

In a three-star review, NME wrote: “Baz Luhrmann is a famously superficial filmmaker – when it comes to the flash and glamour of The Great Gatsby and, indeed, Elvis, this is his great strength. Documentary, though, which requires deeper insight than he summons with EPiC, is not his natural habitat. Still, he’s certainly captured the King’s iconoclasm, for which we can only say: ‘Thank you, thank you very much.’”

Sony and RCA released the official soundtrack album for the film on digital and CD on February 20, with a 2LP vinyl version to follow on April 24, which you can pre-order here.

The 27-track album features all of the music from the film, as well as new mixes and medleys of songs, including a PNAU remix of ‘Don’t Fly Away’ and Jamieson Shaw mixes of ‘In The Ghetto’ and ‘Love Me’.
