RM has suffered an injury ahead of BTS’s highly anticipated Netflix comeback concert.

The upcoming special, titled BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang, is set to air live from Seoul, South Korea on Saturday, marking the K-pop group’s first full performance together in nearly four years.

However, BTS’s label, BigHit Music, confirmed via fan platform Weverse on Friday that RM has sustained an ankle injury, meaning he will be “partially limited” on stage.

The statement explained that the Korean rapper and songwriter, 31, was injured during rehearsals on Thursday.

“RM suffered an ankle injury and was taken to a hospital to undergo a detailed examination and treatment,” the statement read. “A medical diagnosis confirmed a sprain of the accessory navicular, a partial ligament tear, and a talus contusion (which includes ligament damage and inflammation).”

It continued, “As advised by medical professionals, he must wear a cast and strictly limit movement for a minimum of two weeks to concentrate solely on his recovery.”

The label added that while RM remains committed to “deliver a high quality performance”, he and his team have decided to “prioritise the medical opinion to preemptively prevent any further strain on his injury”.

It added, “Accordingly, RM’s on-stage performance, including choreography, will be partially limited.”

The comeback concert follows the release of BTS’s first album in six years, Arirang, which dropped on Friday. The group are also preparing to embark on a global tour, which kicks off in April and runs until March 2027.

BTS, made up of RM, Jung Kook, V, Jimin, Suga, Jin and J-Hope, are reuniting after completing their mandatory military service.
