Sabrina Carpenter believes getting to meet her fans on the Short n’ Sweet Tour “really changed (her) life”.

The Taste hitmaker began her music career in 2015 and had been steadily on the rise for several years before she released the global smash hit Espresso in 2024 and reached a whole new level of pop stardom.

When asked to reflect on how the song changed her life, Sabrina explained that the track made her 2024 album Short n’ Sweet a success and enabled her to embark on her first headline arena tour, which was the real life-changing experience.

“When I think about one thing changing my life, it seems silly,” she told designer Marc Jacobs in an interview for Perfect magazine. “It had to be 20 things before that and 20 things after (Espresso’s release). There’s so many moments that lead up to something that resonates with people. Then the moments after are really important as well.

“I think, honestly, the tour I did in the last year, the Short n’ Sweet tour, I feel like that really, really changed my life. That was my first arena tour. It was the first time anyone got to really live with these songs and hear how they sound out loud. It was really the tour – and the fans. It’s mostly what they’ve done to change my life, which is existing, showing up. I owe it to them.”

Sabrina, 26, began the Short n’ Sweet Tour in September 2024 and wrapped it up in November 2025 after travelling around North America and Europe.

The Tears singer noted that in a primarily online world, she gets a thrill out of performing live and forging connections with her fans during concerts.

“When I’m writing, I’m pretty isolated in the studio. Even when you’re on the set of something, you’re in a little bit more of an intimate crew of people,” she shared. “Whereas I feel like these shows are just where you can feel so much energy in a crowd, in a sea of that many people. There are so many stories, and there’s so many different kinds of people that it just feels like you’re really living.”

Sabrina recently headlined two weekends at the Coachella festival in California.
